Where we are up to
The Department of Justice and Community Safety has met the target for 2021.
Funding was allocated to the Victim Assistance Programs to recruit 10.4 FTE Koori Engagement Workers across Victoria. There is at least 1.0 FTE in each Department of Families, Fairness and Housing region across Victoria, enhancing support services available to Aboriginal victims of crime and connecting communities to services available.
These workers are supported by a Koori Network Group that convene quarterly to discuss strategies to engage the Aboriginal community.
