Where we are up to
A research application for multiple projects was approved by Justice Human Research and Ethics Committee (JHREC) in February 2020. Consultation began but was affected by COVID-19 restrictions. The consultation approach was revised, and an amended application approved by the Corrections Victoria Research Committee and JHREC.
Interviews were undertaken with Aboriginal women in the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre to understand what works in terms of support for bail and compliance with other community-based orders. Consultations are also underway with Corrections staff and other internal stakeholders to identify promising practice supporting Aboriginal people with compliance and completion of Community Corrections Orders.
